Default New STI

Decided not to fix the bugeye (engine blew up a month ago) and just start over. I just picked up a new (to me) 06 STI, stock with 32k miles. Bought it from a CHP officer up in Merced CA. Picked it up Saturday Morning then took it for a run up to Yosemite for the weekend. Loving it over the modded WRX for now. Plans are to keep this one stock. Click the image to open in full size.

I hear ya. I was so tired of all the issues and random noises that kept popping up due to my mods on my old wrx. I hadn't even done anything that significant, probably shoddy work lol, oh well.

Not sure that it will get me a get out of any tickets. But he did have a built in radar detector and lidar jamming system installed. Was pretty cool getting an explanation from him on how to use this against the same speed traps he is running every day. Can't use the lidar jamming here in CA unfortunately but should come in handy elsewhere on trips....

He also filled me in on how their radar works. I always thought when driving they had to pace cars to get a speed and when parked they could use radar/lidar. According to him, "As for the radar we can use it when we are moving coming up behind you. When we are stationary. When you are coming up behind us and when we are going the opposite direction. Basically we can obtain the speed on any car moving in front of us or behind us whether we are moving or sitting stationary." Pretty crazy, I had no idea it was so flexible.
