I actually had some downtime today and was able to work on my car a bit. Put back on a bunch of small parts you really cannot see in the pictures but you will get the idea.

well, i did cancel my order with Z1 - I don't need a new thermostat, and with Infamous I wont have to pay shipping.

Plus the infamous kit is cheaper.

I spoke to Mike and It turns out one of the fan shrouds was too damaged to be re-used so the shroud will be in on Thursday and I should be able to drive her home Thursday afternoon.

After the timing belt change he fired her up to back her further into the garage and he said she purred like a kitty and ran smoothly. I am pretty stoked!

The first time in a year n a half that I drove her.

Items left before she is fully done:
* New Front Bumper
* Side Skirts Re-installed
* New Headlamps (at the very least a new drivers side)
* New Tires + Alignment
* New Hood
* Re-install sound system (I pulled it out before I decided to keep the car)

So, Yesterday I got the rear tire fixed, and decided that since it is supposed to rain today, and the wife needs the truck I better make the car presentable for highway use:

Click the image to open in full size.

Zip Tied the driver side headlamp in place, also the front plate, and purchased a new battery.

Drove her about 65 miles so far today, besides the alignment pulling to the left (which it did well before the accident)

So far I am very very happy. She is running great!

HAHA!

Considering the Insurance gave me a clean title on the car I could sell her for a pretty penny, however the reason I bought her back from the Insurance is so I could keep her for life.

I know she won't be a "rare" collector item, but being 2004 she was the first USDM STI, and that is sorta special.

SOOOOOO, I picked up the headlights I bought a few weeks ago from my buddy who picked them up for me. Here you can see the new on in front of my original passenger side. You will notice the ones I got have been painted inside to have a steel/grey look instead of the Chrome. I like it, though I wish they had removed the amber lenses when they had the things apart.

New Drivers Side lamp installed, this is the one that was injured the worst in the crash and needed to be replaced:

You can see the gap on the hood from where it is buckled.

Everything works now, no more harassment from the Carlsbad Cops for a headlight not working.

AND, the Aspen white hood I picked up for a steal a few weeks ago int he background....

oh, and I spotted a cool WRX the other day on my way to work:

I picked up a front Bumper for my baby on Saturday, so I am getting closer and closer to having a finished product, but in the meantime here is a pic of my dog trying to drive the car:
