Default Professional Paint Correction/Detail for a Professional Skateboarder

I had a great opportunity to do a Full Paint Correction/Detail for Professional Skateboarder Tony Hawk. His car of choice for a Family car & Daily Driver was a Black Lexus LS600hl.
This beautiful car had been very neglected over the past year and a half, and had only been washed once or twice according to Tony.
The outside of the car had been abused by the elements. It was covered in Heavy swirls, Spider webs, Oxidation, Scratch marks, Door marks, Bird Etchings, Fallout and Heavy Water Etchings into the clear coat. The Interior was just as bad, the carpet was stained, the leather seats were dried out, the leather rear seats and carpet had food and milkshake stains on them from his kids.

After fully examining the car and taking paint readings, I talked with Tony about what it would take to make his Lexus looking new again.
Well after 12hrs of Paint Correction and Fine detail work, The Lexus ls600hl is now perfect and ready for delivery.

LOL, Tony is a cool chill laid back guy. I am scheduled to detail his 1000Hp Hennessey Jeep SRT-8. Hopefully I can start detailing his friends and families cars soon.

Wow amazing job.

I am in the middle of trying to restore the paint on the (nowhere near as bad condition as that Lexus) on my OBP subie. I am having difficulty getting all the marks out with a medium cut pad, clearcut, and my porter cable orbital. Would you recommend using compound on the whole car withe the buffer prior to clearcut or just on specific problem areas? My old silver wrx hid scratches so well I never stressed over getting it perfect. The OBP shows every little imperfection though.

Try Switching to a heavy cut pad w/ some 700-1200 grit compound. Then medium pad with 2000-3000 grit polish, then polishing pad with 3500-5000 grit polish. I use all Chemical guys Products so I would use Cut 1.0 with heavy pad, paint correction 2 with medium pad then V36 Polish, V38 Polish, then blacklight or a glaze then a liquid wax or a high end paste wax, then jetseal or a spray sealant.
There is an Event & detail day on Sat at the Chemical guys store in SD if you have any questions and want to stop by, I would be more than happy to help you.

Sounds awesome. I will have to drop by. Does it go all day?

Cool that they are open Saturday, the detailing shop I currently use is only open m-f and closes before I get off work so is a huge hassle to resupply.

Thanks, it was definitely worth it. Being Certified as a Professional Paint Correction Specialist / Detailer adds a new level of customers and high end vehicles.

Hey Sorry couldn't make it Saturday. I ended up running over at lunch on thursday to get some supplies. He recommended I just start with VF36, then the rest that you mentioned. He gave me some tips on the proper pads to use and some pointers for getting a better result with the porter cable. Detailed the STI after work Thurs and Friday. Looking much better.

Thanks for bringing Chemical Guys to my attention.
