oem STi up-pipe
Helix or any name brand catted down pipe (Bellmouth)
Any 3' exhaust with a resonator on it.

All that catless sh*t with no resonator sounds like ass and reaks of fuel.

02-05 wrx have a precat in the uppipe, so i would go with an sti uppipe or if you wanna go aftermarket grimmspeed (they have a flex joint on their uppipe)

For DPs, definitly catted.

Catbacks, there are tons out there. One thing to note is a lot of them taper to 2.5" so just make sure to know what ure getting. Youtube has tons of sounds bits, that'd be a good place to check out the different tones.

Now, did u want a quiet exhaust? Seems everyone that has posted are all pointing u in a quieter route.

I have invidia n1 race tbe with cat in the dp.. It's non resonated.. IMO, does NOT sound like shit and has never wreaked.

Yeah i am looking for a middle of the road here, i dont want the sound of running no cats, but i do want that wonderful subie exhaust sound you can get from a cat-back... Im going with invidia or HKS for the exhaust both sound amazing and i can get them for around 500 bucks shipped... as far as DP, Divorced or Bellmouth? Im having a hard time finding bellmouth Dp with a high flow cat... I tried looking for helix, but it seems the company has feel from the face of the earth. im thinking of just going with a divorced invidia with a high flow cat, or a perrin with a high flow car, both are about the same price. and i bought a up-pipe yesterday, not sure what kind but it has the flex pipe and no cat but i remember something about the inner diameter of the pip was the same size what it connects too lol... but thats whats going on so far lol

The first videos are when I had invidia dp with high flow cat, and perrin quad tip catback. Sorry about crappy video quality on those.

Scroll down, a YouTube link of how my car is now.
Invidia n1 race TBE with high flow cat.

Invidia offers the N1 street which has a resonator if u wanted to go a quieter route. Although i believe the N1s are all pretty loud.. Lol I love it

Catted Helix DPs are rare indeed. I found one used on NASIOC classifieds. Just keep an eye out or post a WTB thread. They get posted up for sale, they just go really fast. Lots of people also go with ERZ, but it seems like the fit & quality are hit-or-miss with them.

I have the Invidia N1 Street (same as Race, but with resonator). LOVE IT. Cops don't even look my way and I think it's pretty loud.

Definitely get a catless uppipe. I found a TurboXS catless uppipe (with flex section) for I think under $100 on the NASIOC classifieds and it was brand new and came with resistors. The resistor is so you can plug the hole for EGT sensor and put the resistor in the harness in place of the EGT wiring. This fools the system into thinking the EGT is around 1274*F (IIRC) so your CEL doesn't come on. It's a 2.2kohm resistor, 1/4 Watt I think. Someone else may know for sure.

The reason to remove the EGT probe is that its sole purpose is to alert you when the temps get too hot, meaning the cat in the uppipe is going to fail, come apart, and destroy your turbo. If you leave it in with no cat, now the probe itself can deteriorate and fly into the turbo.

These guys have helix stuff in stock i believe.

I have a helix downpipe, grimmspeed uppipe and a blitz nur spec axelback, sounded nice with the 2.0 but seems quite a bit louder on my hybrid 2.5.

I say you just get a bellmouth and where it bends to go to the back of the car. Just cut it facing down and call it a day.

I love my Invidia N1!!!!!! My car is where craig first herd it. VERY loud though but I would suggest the catless all the way around if you can get away with it. Borla HUSH exhaust is a nice one if you want some thing pretty quiet but to still have the rumble. I also used to run the Greddy EVO 2 exhaust. Pretty quiet but still had the awsome subie sound and just a little louder than that is the HKS carbon. (or at least the one I ran was)

your oem wrx up pipe is catted ... you can go sti uppipe (catless) as mentioned by everyone else ... or do what im about to do ... gut the oem wrx up pipe and make it "catless" and pnp it for extra flow if youre feeling frisky

for the dp, divorced vs bellmouth ... i find it irrelavent for an oem turbo. iirc the divorced design is only beneficial on a huge aftermarket turbo w/ a huge ass wastegate flapper (correct me if im wrong here guysss)

once again im goin teh cheap route, im gonna go w/ a cheap dp (dont care about the brand, $$$ talks) and will custom weld on a high flow cat on it, more than likely goin w/ ebay dp + vibrant cat

cbe ... youre call, its all personal pref. if u want something cheap, looks good, sounds good ... hit me up ... ill have an apexi n1 for sale real soon
