Me too. I don't need any "special treatment". My car will pass on it's own.

dude you can pass smog... just throw the stock cat and intake box on there and you're good to go. if i passed you shouldn't have a problem either.

i did swap the entire stock exhaust on there from the dp back just to quiet the car down and minimize the sound of the cam lope... if you can do the same you'll pass no problem.

yea, I still have the cat, i dont however have the airbox, I'm gonna have to find one and hunt one down... That would be the only hook up i'd need... just someone to ignore the intake...

The guy I sold my car to has my stock air intake box too. He is out of the area right now, but if you have some time before you get smogged maybe you can hit him on PM & see if he'll let you borrow it.

could always just make up a carb legal sticker for it

the visual for smog is usually a joke... the guy glanced around my engine bay and that was it

is the filter drop in or cone?

do you have your stock heat shield over the turbu?

if it's a drop in then you will be fine

if you have your stock heat shield over your turbo then you should pass but it all depends on the inspector that is looking under the hood.

i think you'll do fine..... i have an aftermarket o2 housing right off the turbo unshielded and he didn't even notice that or my manual boost controller chilling down by my radiator...but then again it really all depends on how hard the tech looks at your engine bay... the guy who did mine just glanced around. i'd ask around and see where people went and how in depth the visual was.... if all else fails pick some random little smog shop and hope for the best....chances are the guy there doesn't know wtf he's lookin at other than for the obvious no no's.

not to mention they probably would "miss" a few things on the visual to get your car to pass cause they're probably hurting for money like everyone else is.

There is a place in Kearny Mesa. It's a test only station even. They don't really care about the visual, just the sniffer. My friends 97 Eclipse GS-T just passed there with a DP, O2 eliminators, Front mount, Injectors, and tune. Passed with flying colors, they didn't say a word. I always take my cars there and they have never said a word about a single mod I've had done.

PM me for the name and address.

Good Luck!

^ I'd suggest removing names, cuz they can get a huge fine and possibly lose their smog license. I'm sure Donnie can shed some light on this.

Depends on how many times they have been caught, usually its just the tech that gets the fine, not the shop owner
