Another Tune by Reese Tuning +

As you guys read on my other thread http://www.allwheeljunkies.com/showthread.php?t=30170 my evo had non stop issues since day #1.

I got my coils and extenders replaced on my car. As well as got a straight pipe installed. Still have smog check engine lights which come on every 2k miles after reset or think that it is fixed. Drives me dam nuts. Also got the rest of the boost leaks fixed which where mentioned on previous thread.

So I called Reese to schedule an appointment again he was quick to schedule an appointment and satisfy my long distance needs. TO make a long story short I was extremely late to his shop hour before they close (4 hours late from orginal scheduled time) and he still took me in to tune the car. I appreciate this so much as I am not local and it took way longer then expected for the fixes above to be performed.

He started to tune the car again and guess what after all the other boost leak fixes there is another one. Someone put a small Tbolt clamp on my lower intercooler hose. It was bottomed out and not holding the pressure. So again Reese helped out with a boost leak test and another tbolt clamp to fix this issue. Finally boost leak test checked out no issues. We where finally in business ready to rock and roll.

He tuned the car and man I am so impressed with his tuning ability and knowledge. Car drives amazing and finally I have a car again. It pulls and drives so smooth no hickups or issues at all.

I thank you so much Reese and recomend James Reese for all tuning needs. I trust him with my car and I will be back when I get evo9 turbo setup :)

Adam,

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the review. I am sure it means a great deal coming from someone who previously ran and operated a tuning facility. Things can be tough as you know. I am happy to hear you are satisfied with the results. That car was a head ache for sure :)

As for everyone's comments and replies, I appreciate them. It reminds me why I love this community so much and it's supporters. Those few people actually have no idea how or what it takes to develop and operate a tuning facility of such. For those of you who know my tuning abilities I appreciate that. It can be tough at times.

We will be down sizing here soon. Business has been steady but there is no need for the big shop we have anymore. We are able to be a lot more efficient with less help. I am thinking a smaller operation will be a lot more practical for us. Back to one lift and the dyno. I truly miss those days. I was able to be a lot more personal with everyone that came in the door. Now it is a giant rush to help everyone and try to get things handled in a timely manner.

Adam, I am sure you are happy with the tune. That car was headache from day one :) None the less we got her dialed in.

IMO, I think Pann is great shop for everyone. They do well for the local crowd. They are not exactly geared towards Subaru and Mitsu's but for the generic import car they are great. Keep in mind San Diego is limited on the import market. That is just my though. Pann has really stepped up their game the last few years. Better staff, better customer service and a lot better parts selection is what I have seen. I do stop by there every now and again to say hello to some of the guys there. They refer us a good bit of business and we appreciate it. We both know that my tuning abilities are far superior to them. That was established years ago.

James

When a shop worker backs a car off their lift and me and two other customers see him run over my fender and the mech denies it and I have to fight for two weeks to get it fixed is not a "great" shop for everyone.

For everyone or anyone, go check out the latest thread on socalevo about how a certain shop has ripped multiple peeps for much $$$$$ on parts never ordered. Pretty sad how some conduct themselves. Looks like some small claims are in the works and multiple complaints to BAR. Superior my ass!

Re: Another Tune by Reese Tuning +

Good morning to everyone.

First off I would like to say that not one single customer has been ripped off here at Reese Tuning. Nor will anyone get ripped off here at Reese Tuning. We are a stand up shop with respect for all our customers and client. I appreciate everyone's continued support.

This particular customer originally placed an order for an FP Green, three weeks later he changes the order to an FP Red. We notified him the FP Red was not available and he agreed to wait for the tubro to be built. After becoming impatient and not wanting to wait for FP to build the turbo he decided to change his order again. This time it was for a BBK from CBRD. We then let him know there is a wait time for them as well. They are a small business and do not stock turbos. First off let me remind everyone, I am not a manufacture of turbos. I can not make them, build them etc. We simply install them and tune them. We do some occasional port work to turbos and thats about it. Simple.

So in reference to the turbo situation we have ZERO control over getting a turbo other than paying for it and ordering it. I can not do anything else as a business owner. We have kept this owner informed of everything that has been going on with the status of the order etc. He is very impatient and demanded a refund. I refused to do so as he has changed the orde two times each time we had to pay for them. These turbos are paid for prior to building them. End result we lose money by changing the order again and again. At this point when the turbo arrives you will be notified Jose.

I hope you are reading this Jose. When the turbo arrives here to Reese Tuning you will be contacted. There is nothing I can do at this point to expedite the process. Nothing. Nor will I refund your money because the third turbo you chose has already been paid for. Hope that makes sense to you. In conclusion when you are indecisive, be patient. This could have all been prevented if you ordered the ACTUAL turbo you wanted in the first place.

Thanks fo taking the time to hear both sides of the story.

James

james, no1 believes you! well, maybe adam...
sad but that's teh truth...
just man up, yo...

did you puposely skipped these post?

So I'm not the only one lately. I have a worse story. Mine totals $24,000 of which I've received $2,500 worth of the items. Ordered back in May of last year for $12,000 then upped my build another $12,000 in July. I've been trying to get parts back or money since Oct. 2nd. Only thing keeping me from suing him was funds. It's like $1,500 to even have a lawyer write a letter. My ZO6 payment doesn't help. If small claims court would be possible to go to in my position I would be all over this with you. Good luck to everyone. I also cannot believe someone can do this to people, it's INSANE.

Also, I know he never ordered my stuff before he got cut off from Buschur when I ordered in May.

Might be even more expensive for him later. Talked to a lawyer, he commuted fraud which I can file for within 3 years, he also cannot get away from it even if he files for bankruptcy and the kicker is... If I win in court, he has to pay my lawyer fee's. Right now it's a $21,500 lessen for me but it could be a $60,000+ lesson for him in the near future.

same thing with my buddy friend paid him for engine harness and everything months later no parts were ordered. you should contact the BAR they are already up his ass get his license revoked and he's done.
